JOB PURPOSE
This role enables Integral Marketing & Communications (GMC) to deliver on its strategy to amplify the best of the World Vision global partnership in communications, marketing, and sponsorship. The Manager, Knowledge and Community Engagement will enable this by designing and managing common ways of working across 100+ GMC staff in key areas including: 1. Knowledge management standards, tools, technology, and processes 2. Governance model for Communities of Practice, Centres of Excellence, and Shared Services 3. Community engagement standards, tools, technology, and processes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
50%
- Knowledge Management: Design and manage GMC’s overall approach to knowledge management, with a focus on ensuring a consistent, simple experience for all external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
- Design GMC’s overall KM approach and taxonomy
- Deliver fit-for-purpose common tools and technology including AI
- Monitoring and management to ensure delivery of common approach
- Continuous improvement based on stakeholder feedback and best practices
15%
- CoP/CoE/Shared Service Governance: Coordinate development and management of a pragmatic common governance approach across Communities of Practice, Centres of Excellence, and Shared Services. Key responsibilities include:
- As directed by GMC Core Team, design common governance approach and related tools, templates, resources
- Design and coordinate process to establish and maintain governance documentation
- Design and coordinate relevant monitoring of governance metrics

- Community Engagement: Design and manage GMC’s overall approach to community engagement (i.e. in Communities of Practice), with a focus on ensuring a consistent, delightful experience for all community members. Key responsibilities include:
- Leveraging the best of what’s already working, design GMC’s overall community engagement approach
- Deliver fit-for-purpose common tools and technology.
- Monitoring and management to ensure GMC stakeholders are following common approach
- Continuous improvement based on stakeholder feedback and best practices

- Training and Capability Building: Ensure all key stakeholders are aware of and equipped to deliver a consistent experience to our partners in the areas of knowledge management, governance, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver training and coaching to all relevant stakeholders
- Lead GMC-internal Communities of Practice around Knowledge Management, Community Engagement, and CoP/CoE/Shared Service Governance
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Science or related field.
- 7-10 years in a knowledge management role, including developing and implementing knowledge management strategies and systems.
- Experience managing virtual communities, including creating and implementing engagement strategies
- Experience using the Microsoft suite (SharePoint, Teams, etc) to support collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Proven ability to influence a large team to adopt common practices and tools.
- Proven ability to deliver simple, elegant solutions to complex business needs.
- Excellent written and verbal English is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5% of the time internationally.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications:
- Experience working in a global organisation
- Experience working in a virtual environment
- Understanding of governance frameworks and performance monitoring in complex organisations.
- Affinity with emerging technologies, including AI tools for knowledge sharing and community engagement
