MEDLIFE is a non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. **Our mission** is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home. **Our vision** is a world free from the constraints of poverty. **Our idóneo Operations Intern**
We’re looking for a passionate advocate who has an immediate connection to our mission and vision. We need **storytellers **that can elevate the voice of community members in developing countries. We need **community organizers**, who will rally groups together to fight for our cause, make positive connections, and build relationships with ease. We need **problem solvers **that can turn challenges into growth opportunities. A professional with a passion for social impact and who identifies with our organization’s purpose. Able to multitask in a fast paced environment. If you want to make the world a better place, we need you.
**About the Internship**
We’re looking for a new freelance talent to work hand in hand with volunteers, staff, and communities to collaborate with the Operation team to ensure a solid operation of the Service Learning Trips and travel extensions on the ground.
**What will your day-to-day look like at MEDLIFE?**
Help the Operations team in the following responsibilities:
- **Create Educational Travel Experiences and Quotes for Chapters, Partners and Independent travelers.
- Manage Hotels reservation.
- Update activities and itineraries for all MEDLIFE regions.
- Make follow-up to SLT Participants to complete key information such as: full SLT payment, flights information, dietary restrictions, passport information, etc.
- Provide information to volunteers about MEDLIFE services & products:
- Use of vouchers & discounts
- Upgrade insurance
- Extra accommodation and/or upgrades
- New extensions
- Identify and solve problems during the SLT and Extension operations.
- Coordinate transportation reservation: airport transfers, hotel pickups, and other transportation arrangements.
- Monitor transfer schedules and make necessary adjustments to accommodate changes or delays.
- Analyze the feedback from SLT volunteers and identify improvements.
- Make sure MEDLIFE merchandising in the warehouse is always updated.
**What will you bring?**
- Completed studies or bachelor/Technical degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or Business Administration, or related field.
- 1+ year of work experience in the Tourism industry is a plus
- Intermediate or advanced-level English skills required.
- Be familiar with the basic operations of Travel destinations in Peru
- Knowledge of Travel Destinations in Peru.
- Knowledge of Travel destinations in Ecuador, Costa Rica or Tanzania is a plus.
- Live in Cusco
