High School Social Studies Teacher (La Molina)

Responsabilities The High School Social Studies Teacher is a dynamic, student-centered educator responsible for fostering a passion for history and the social sciences and cultivating exceptional thinkers within a supportive, collaborative, and inquiry-based environment. The teacher works actively with colleagues to design and deliver a rigorous, standards-based curriculum, ensuring every student has effective access to learning and is empowered to connect their understanding of historical contexts, general perspectives, and social systems to the real world.

Required Qualifications and Experience Certification: Valid teaching license or a degree in education, or a valid teaching certification (or equivalent) in their teaching field. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in History and/or other relevant social studies field. Experience: Minimum two years of full-time social studies teaching experience in the subject/level is required.

Desired Skills and Expertise Advanced Education: Master’s Degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. Curriculum: Experience with Peruvian, Latin American & US History curriculum as well as IB curriculum is preferred. Standards: C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards understanding preferred Assessment: Experience in standards-based grading and using assessment to inform instruction. Differentiation: Experience working with English as an additional language, learning resources and/or children who excel. Technology: Technologically literate in Web Applications and Google Applications. Experienced in using technology to enhance learning. Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to on-going professional development in areas of best practice.
