High School English Teacher (La Molina)

Responsabilities The High School English Teacher is a highly creative, versatile, and student-focused specialist who teaches advanced literacy/critical analysis in a challenging yet supportive environment. In English, the teacher is responsible for fostering exceptional critical thinkers and communicators through the IB English A: Language and Literature (SL/HL) course and other English offerings. This role ultimately empowers students to use the arts as a powerful tool for communication and exploring social issues.

Required Qualifications and Experience Certification: Valid teaching license or a degree in education, or a valid teaching certification (or equivalent) in their teaching field. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English and/or other relevant fields. Experience: Minimum two years of full-time English teaching experience in the subject/level is required.

Desired Skills and Expertise The knowledge and skills to develop unit and lesson plans collaboratively as needed Assessment: Experience in standards-based grading and using assessment to inform instruction. Differentiation: Experience working with English as an additional language, learning resources and/or children who excel. Technology: Technologically literate in Web Applications and Google Applications. Experienced in using technology to enhance learning. Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to on-going professional development in areas of best practice.
