Role Overview

Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of St Columba's Catholic Primary School. The role begins September 2026.

Responsibilities
- Have high aspirations for all children, themselves and a desire to raise standards.
- Enthuse, motivate and engage learners who have communication difficulties.
- Set high expectations for behaviour and wellbeing of children.
- Develop and implement EHCPs and individual learning strategies.
- Work closely with parents, carers and other professionals to support each child’s development.
- Have the knowledge and skills necessary to plan an exceptional, adapted curriculum.
- Support the Catholic character of the school, living out our vision and intent.

Key Expectations

As a primary school teacher you will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, consistently demonstrating the highest standards of delivery. You should be fully committed to raising attainment across the whole school and across all subjects you are required to teach. You will be acutely aware of the strategies required to achieve the highest standards across the curriculum. You may from time to time be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility defined in this job description.
